Spring Village Basic School Mural By Dwayne Risden

Believe it or not, Spring village has its share of painters. Artists like Derrie DeLahaye and Dwayne Risden are some of our local artists with their work shown around various locations in the village. Many of us know the famous mural above but may not have known who composed it. It was done by one of our most prominent artists Mr. Dwayne Risden also known as "Great".  Dwayne, the son of Monica Mighty, began drawing and painting at the age of thirteen. He attended Old Harbour High and was mostly self taught. During the 90's he took art courses in England to further his education in fine art.

Besides the well known mural above,other examples of Dyawne's work can be seen around the village. Below are some other examples of his work. Dwayne aspires to help create an art movement in the village by helping to inspire children and adults to create art.

Norval Hall 

Norval Hall (Son of Yonnie Campbell) currently lives in Florida and is a budding artist. He created history as the first from Spring Village and also from the USA to win a silver medal in the Winter Special Olympics in South Korea. Norval finds the time to refine his craft below.
