Talk quietly. Turn off cell phones and pagers.
When working in a group, be mindful of others in the immediate area.
Use the computers for academic purposes only.
Limit your time on the computer if someone is waiting to use it.
Respect the space.
Food and drink not permitted in the library and should be kept especially away from computers, VCR's and DVD players.
Report any damage to staff.
Request help from the library staff to clean up food or beverage spills.
Keep materials in the condition in which you found them.
When you leave, please clean up after yourself.
Place trash in proper containers.
Return furniture to where it belongs.
Turn off TV's, VCR's and DVD players when you finish using them.
Use of tobacco products is prohibited.
You may not eat or drink near the computers. Please leave your food and drinks on a designated table outside the library.
The computer research stations should be used primarily for your educational and instructional needs. The computers in the library support internet usage and some Microsoft applications.
Assistance
Librarians are available to help you locate materials for research projects, may be able to answer Microsoft Word questions and other general applications loaded.
What you may NOT do on the computer
Chatting is not allowed. Some chatting is allowed on computers found in the Library.
Instant messaging is not allowed.
Playing of non-educational games is not allowed.
Viewing pornography is not allowed.
Downloading software is not allowed.
Installing application software or plug-ins is not allowed.
Time Limits
Everyone is expected to limit their time to one hour during peak computer use time periods. If staff requests that you to stop any activity, you are expected to comply.
Printing should be limited. We recommend that you read or scan material online and print only what you need. If you don't have time to read an entire article, please save or e-mail the article. Library staff can assist.
Scratch paper may be provided, so do not use printer paper as scratch paper. Do not try to printout a document more than once. If you need help, ask a member of the library staff. Ask before adding paper, envelopes, transparencies, etc. Users are entitled to only one printed copy of each of their documents..
