ANNUAL REPORT 2006 – LONDON U.K. CHAPTER

May 2006

Dear All

Greetings. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank all villagers for the wonderful support we have been able to give each other.

Together we have managed to rise to the cause of helping with the issue of the health and wellbeing of those at home and abroad.

It was really great to see so many of you at the last two Reunion Dance. We do understand that a number of people were not able to attend but still gave their support by purchasing tickets. I wholeheartedly thank the members of the committee for their drive and commitment in the organization and execution of duties ranging from selling of tickets to the cooing and washing up. You are all magnificent. Monetary assistance was given this year to a number of villagers who are wheelchair bound, suffering from cancer and for medical operations.

This year we look forward to the 3rd Reunion Dance which we hope will be even more successful. Our Venue for the occasion is the PEO Business Centre in Croyden.

The committee will be continuing their work in networking and mobilizing support for this venture.

Naturally I extend congratulations to all the SVCDF Chapters across the globe for their sterling work in helping the people of Spring Village. Together we are making a difference.

My prayer is that Gods blessing be upon us all as we continue to work in the spirit of humanity.

Best regards

Humroy Whyte President.

ANNUAL GENERAL REPORT 2004-5

Greetings to all. It is in the spirit of humility that we give thanks and praise to Almighty God for enabling us to make it thus far in this our charitable cause on behalf of humanity.

Our sincere gratitude to all for the support and good-will as together we have offered help to the health and well-being of the people of Spring Village in Jamaica W.I.

Upon reflection the past year was a good one. Through the privilege afforded us the Committee worked tirelessly as a team to achieve our first set of goals. We have made good progress.

During 2004 we have offered assistance to a number of Spring Villagers with issues of health ranging from breast cancer, being wheelchair bound and grief. Those who received help along with their families their families have expressed their thanks.

Through this 2nd Reunion Dance in August 2005 we hope to make further progress by

offering more help to those in need. Your kind generosity  and support is once again welcomed, valued and respected. Please purchase a ticket towards this noble cause.

We look forward in the year ahead to establish ties with The Jamaican High Commission and the Jamaican Gleaner Newspaper in London. These links we hope will help to strengthen the work of the SVCDF (U.K.) London Chapter.

Peace and Love be multiplied and lest we forget God is with us in all that we do. Always.

Thank you

·                                 Schools- Education

·                                 Medical Assistance

·                                 Administration of funds

·                                 Discussion of funds

·                                 Connecting villagers

·                                 Upcoming events

 Medical Assistance

To assist sick persons who are in need of medical care but are unable to provide it for themselves it is proposed that funds should be made available for assistance in the form of paying for doctor's fee’s, buying medication and any other medical assistance required.

Schools - Education

Schools could be ear marked for particular assistance with regards to computers, furniture etc.

Administration of Funds

It has been decided that in order to access the committee’s funds the approval, in the form of the signatures of Sheryl Norace-Harris, Steve Noble and Leon Delahaye should be obtained. This accounts book will then be passed onto Humroy Whyte (President) who will then give final approval and arrange for the release of the funds. However, should there be a problem obtaining approval from all signatories a meeting, arranged by the General Secretary, of all villagers will be held, where a vote will ensue with the majority verdict action being taken.

Discussion of Funds

It is proposed that a monthly meeting should be held to discuss pending expenditures on upcoming projects. This would reflect how much has been spent, future spending and the balance left in the account book. This information will then be filtered down to all delegates and meeting members to ensure everyone’s in the picture.

Connecting Villagers

A suggestion has been put forward to create a database of names, addresses and telephone numbers etc so that we can contact delegates and villagers to communicate events. For example we are having the annual reunion party on September 25th 2004, this event will hopefully provide a setting to reunite everyone as well as assist those in need. There is also a general consensus that there should be closer involvement at christenings, funerals, BBQ’s, party’s and graduations etc to create a closer community spirit.

Upcoming events

Reunion party to be held on September 25th 2004 from 7.00pm to 3.00am at the Battersea Bar at 58-70 York Road, London, SW11. Tickets will be sold for £10.00 per person.
